As we enter 2025, the Boccia season is in full swing: PACE Boccia has grown exponentially since the start of the new year with four new athletes joining the squad, Jason, Ted, David and Charlie. Although David and Charlie joined PACE with little Boccia experience to speak of, they have hit the ground running with Charlie being fast tracked to the PACE A team.
Now Charlie, along with two other dedicated athletes of PACE Boccia, Savraj, and Arinze, recently showcased their skills at the Boccia Heathcoat Cup in Brentwood. This prestigious event saw players from across the region competing in a display of precision, strategy, and sportsmanship.
For Charlie and Arinze, this competition marked a significant milestone as their first-ever competitive Boccia tournament. Both players demonstrated great composure, applying their training and embracing the challenge with enthusiasm. Both athletes secured their first competitive wins, it was inspiring to see their hard work pay off as they competed against experienced opponents, gaining invaluable experience for future competitions ahead.
Savraj, a more seasoned player, brought her competitive edge to the tournament, delivering a strong performance throughout the day. Her confidence and strategic play highlighted her development in the sport, reinforcing the dedication and commitment he brings to every game. Savraj showed great character to finish 5th overall in her category clinching victory in her final match.
The atmosphere at the event was electric, with supporters cheering on all competitors, celebrating their efforts and achievements. The PACE Boccia athletes took great pride stepping onto the court and giving it their all.
We are incredibly proud of Charlie, Savraj, and Arinze for their performances, and we look forward to seeing them continue their Boccia journey in March at Crawley. This is just the beginning for our athletes, and with continued training and determination, there’s no doubt they will achieve even greater success in future competitions.
