PACE recently brought the exciting and inclusive sport of Boccia to IMPACT Theatre in Perivale, as part of their summer school programme, delivering three days of fun-filled activities that left a lasting “impact” on participants. This event was a remarkable opportunity for members of IMPACT Theatre to engage in a sport that promotes not only physical activity but also teamwork, strategy, and social inclusion.

Boccia, a precision ball sport, is specifically designed to be accessible to individuals regardless of ability level. It has become a popular activity in the disability sports community, offering participants the chance to compete, build confidence, and form meaningful connections.

Throughout the three days, the energy in the room was palpable as participants of all abilities came together to enjoy the sport. The event kicked off with an introduction to Boccia, where participants learned the rules and techniques of the game. From there, the fun truly began as everyone had the chance to play in friendly matches.

The sessions were more than just about playing a sport; they were about building a sense of community and belonging. Many participants remarked on how the event helped them connect with others in new ways. 

The three fun-filled Boccia days were led by PACE Coach, Alex Dukes, who brought enthusiasm and expertise to the event. His guidance ensured that every participant, regardless of their level of experience, felt supported and motivated.

As the three-day event came to a close, there was a strong sense of accomplishment and joy among the participants. PACE’s commitment to promoting inclusive sports has clearly made a significant impact, and the event at IMPACT Theatre is a testament to the power of sport in bringing people together.
