PACE Charitable Trust is delighted to celebrate an outstanding performance from two of our athletes at the Crawley Regional BE Cup, with both Ben and Jason securing bronze medals in their respective classifications.
In the BC3 competition, Ben produced a series of impressive performances to claim a place on the podium. As one of PACE’s newest athletes, Ben demonstrated excellent tactical awareness, precise ball placement, and strong end management throughout the competition. His bronze-medal-winning campaign included a notable victory over a former Great Britain Paralympic athlete, highlighting his ability to compete against experienced opposition at a high level.
BC3 is one of the most tactical classifications in Boccia , requiring athletes to work closely with their sport assistants while executing carefully planned shots to control the jack and build scoring positions. Ben showed remarkable composure under pressure and consistently delivered quality balls when it mattered most. To achieve a regional medal so early in his competitive journey is a fantastic accomplishment, and his potential within the sport truly knows no bounds.
In the BC2 category, Jason continued his excellent form this season by also securing a bronze medal. Throughout the competition, Jason displayed the consistency, accuracy, and tactical decision-making that have become hallmarks of his game. His ability to build pressure, create scoring opportunities around the jack, and respond effectively to challenging situations once again proved crucial in securing a podium finish.
This latest result firmly cements Jason’s position among England’s leading BC2 athletes and strengthens his hold on second place in the BC2 English rankings alongside fellow PACE athlete Reshad. It is another significant achievement in what has been an exceptional season for Jason, both as an individual competitor and as an important member of the PACE team.
Jason’s qualification for the BE Cup Finals in September is richly deserved, and we are excited to see him test himself against some of the country’s strongest players as he continues to build momentum.
Everyone at PACE would like to congratulate both athletes on their fantastic achievements. Their dedication on the training court, commitment to developing their technical and tactical skills, and determination in competition are paying dividends on the national circuit.
