What an incredible day of competition at the 2025 Heathcoat Cup Finals – PACE A’s newest member Charlie Reynolds has secured his first ever Boccia medal, and it is gold!
It’s Charlie’s first full Boccia season, which makes this achievement all the more remarkable. The route to the final was a distant goal in Charlie’s mind who just wanted some valuable match play to flesh out his play style and assimilate himself to the rules. However, since arriving at PACE Charlie has shown a willingness to learn: showing up to every training session, taking on feedback and fitting with the rest of A Team, coupled with natural talent Charlie made a big impact in his two regional Heathcoat competitions earning him a place in the Heathcoat Cup finals.
As a BC4 (non Cerebral Palsy) player Charlie had already cemented a medal for his efforts, being as there were only two BC4 players on the day. It would either be a gold or silver medal. To determine the colour Charlie had to face Ugis Rozins over three matches.
Charlie lost the first match 3-2 but shown showed great character – as all champions do – to win his next two matches 8-1 and 3-1 to secure the gold medal and secure his place in his first ever BE Cup finals at the end of May!

It was fantastic to play well on the day and take home my first medal. Hopefully it can be the first of many!
We couldn’t be prouder of Charlie’s accomplishments so far and we cannot wait to see him represent PACE in the BE Cup Finals.
